In this painting of a pair of flowers, the traditional markers of femininity are maintained in this painting in the folds, colors, and softly-rendered rounded forms. However, I expanded on this concept by presenting an explicit depiction of vaginas interlocked in a whirl of impassioned sapphic intimacy, with a vigorous push and pull between emboldened equals. They are fully engrossed in only each other and are wildly active as they become one yet remain individual. Although the idea of animated vagina flowers might be fantastical, the queer sex and love they represent is meant to remain grounded—beautiful and perfectly natural..
