Hana Lowenthal is a multimedia artist who specializes in oil painting, but utilizes a diversity of artistic mediums such as animation, digital art, drawing, comics, photography, and more. Originally from the Midwest and having also lived in the Southwest, they are now based in the Pacific Northwest. Their mixed-race, Japanese-American heritage and queer identity tend to influence the subject matter of their work. They are largely focused on shaping striking visuals, typically with the goal of exploring compelling narratives. Their current work centers around an up-close, intimate view of nature, plants, and organic forms to explore the beauty of natural life while also calling back to our own humanity.
