Verdure Series
I frequent a garden out in Brush Prairie, nestled away in a peacefully secluded location where the sounds of traffic recede far into the distance, drowned out by those of nature and the cows on the farm across the street. It is an immersive experience where one can wander off on paths that snake through lush fields, into the woods, and along a tranquil body of water. I am most mesmerized by the array of plant species grown there, some familiar and others alien in appearance. The heart of the garden hosts narrow winding walkways flanked by dense plots of carefully-cultivated and thriving flora. This series represents a pause to take a close look at the richness of forms, rhythms, and radiant vitality prolific amongst the leaves alone.
